Is Axiomatics Better Than Data Science?
A workshop in two parts. The first part discusses the
philosophy of science. The second part is a technical talk on the
concept of “universal” elastoplasticity.
An engineering textbook is filled with thousands of formulas, modeling
thousands of particular situations that an engineer might encounter in his
work. But at the heart of these thousands of formulas is a very small
core set of mathematical principles. If you understand these principles
well, the formulas will seem trivial.
